Project Description:

This project will provide literacy training to highly marginalized women, enabling them to attain at least a grade one level of reading and writing.  The community has identified women’s education and capacity building as a major local need. By providing literacy training to highly marginalized women, this project will enable them to attain at least a grade one level of reading and writing.  As a result of this project, women are more prepared for leadership roles and promote the health and well-being of themselves, their children and the community.  This is the first year of a five year project. Investments in this project are high impact, as every dollar given will be matched 3 times through the combined support of the Government of Canada’s International Development Agency and Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Education.
