Women's Literacy Year 1
THIS PROJECT HAS BEEN FULLY FUNDED!
Thank You for your support!
Project Description:
Provides literacy training to indigenous women, enabling them to attain at least a grade one level of reading and writing. Provide financial management training, including savings (to be matched one to one for an investment selected by each participant).
This project will :
1. Provide weekly literacy and leadership classes to women in marginalized communities.
2. Utilize weekly classes to train women in financial management (including budgeting and savings) and family health matters.
3. Promote asset accumulation among needy women through one to one savings matches.
The community has identified women’s education and capacity building as a major local need. As a result of this project, women are more prepared for leadership roles and promote the health and well-being of themselves, their children and the community.
This is the first year of a five-year project.
