Drilling for Clean Water
Project Description:
Building on the success of our water wells project in Nicaragua, Change for Children is working with the Tamaraneh Society to raise funds to drill 5 water wells in the Romano Village region of Sierra Leone.
The villagers of Romano live a subsistence lifestyle and completed a water well project in 2007, which has helped reduce water borne illnesses in the community especially amongst children. Increasing needs for water in the surrounding area have made it necessary to prioritize the drilling of five more wells.
Update from the field: May 2011
Change for Children is waiting for total monies raised before initiating well construction.
