Women's Livestock for Life Project

Target Start Date: May 01, 2009
$4,200 total cost
$1,809 still required

Project Description:

The project intends to reduce the impact of poverty on rural women and thus lead to improved living standards for beneficiaries and their families. This will be done by providing beneficiaries with rams which they will rear/fatten and later sell.

The project will seek to equip women with skills of rearing by best practices which will serve as the basis for them to gain economic empowerment which is expected to reflect in many aspects of their lives including but not limited to better health, nutritious meals, and education of their children.

Update from the field:  December 2009

We are anxious to start the project and while we have held preliminary meetings with some of the women hoping to be involved in this project, nothing has begun yet.  We are hopeful!
