Project Description:

Supply Micro Loans to 10 clients.

  • Each Micro Entrepreneur must attend 8 lessons on business management
  • Bank members elect the Executive Directors of their Village Trust Bank
  • Each member submits a business plan and budget
  • Save 10% of their earnings for family emergencies
  • Donate 10% of the earnings to a village project (water, school, clinic, electricity, sanitation etc)
  • No collateral is required.
  • Clients must cross guarantee loan payments of clients in their group of 5 and up to 40 others in the same Village Trust Bank if necessary.
  • Make all payments on time
  • Follow the bi-weekly advice of the MEDIC Benin Trust Bank Advisors.
  • Pay an initial Loan Insurance Premium.
  • On correct repayment of the first loan, the client qualifies for a larger loan.

Age of Business: 10 years
Loan amount: $385 CAD
Project: Esther sells local food stuff to small scale traders in her community. She needs a loan to expand the business.


Vincentia Bezra

Type of Business: Trading
Age of Business: 14 years
Loan amount: 330 CAD
Project: Madam Vincentia sells local food products to small scale traders in her community. She needs a loan to expand the business.


James Boafo
Type of Business: Carpenter
Age of Business: 5 years
Loan amount: 330 CAD
Project: James makes doors and other household furniture for sale. He needs a loan to purchase wood for the business.


Stephen Tetteh
Type of Business: School Proprietor

Loan Amount Required: 550 CAD
Project: Mr. Tetteh is a proprietor of private primary school (grades 1 – 6) Kids For Christ Academy. The school has an enrollment of 290 pupils and a total staff of 12. The loan would  supplement the operating funds of the school and allow them to  accept more students.

Project: Esther cooks and serves a variety of dishes in her community and wants to expand her business by serving more clients in the community. She needs a loan to purchase food stuffs in larger quantities.


Ahinful Donkor
Type of Business: Haulage Transporter
Age of Business: 5 years
Loan Amount required: $660 CAD
Project: Ahinful is a transporter of goods between neighboring countries of  Baurkina Faso, Togo and Ivory Coast . He needs a loan of $660 to allow him to hire a heavy duty truck to more efficiently transport a larger volume per trip.


Beatrice Teko

Project: Beatrice supplies local food stuffs to other small-scaled traders in her community. Demand for the products is quite high and Beatrice needs to increase her stock volume to meet the demand.

Project: Belinda sells a variety of dishes in her community which is well patronized. Belinda requires enough funds to increase the quantity of dishes prepared for sale.

Project: Bright is engaged in the supply of fish and maize to small-scaled businesses in the community. In order to meet the demand, Bright  needs a loan  to increase her stock.
